Donate to Spinal Cord Research
All donations on this page go directly to: “Charity Name Goes Here”
No detours. No “admin for the trip.”
Every pound, dollar and euro donated here goes straight to a spinal cord charity — not to my fuel, tyres, coffee habit, or van repairs.
This drive around the globe is my slightly outrageous way of shouting about spinal cord injuries.
Your donation is the quiet, powerful part that actually changes lives.
Our Goal: Raise £10 Million
Yes, it’s a big number.
Yes, I’m serious.
The goal is to raise £10 million for spinal cord research and support.
If you break that down, it’s £10,000,000 ÷ 126 cities – around £79,000–£80,000 per city.
For an entire city, that’s not outrageous. That’s a couple of big events, a few generous partners, and a whole bunch of people chipping in a fiver.
So now the fun question:
Which city is going to raise the most?
Who’s going to look at that £80k target and say, “Watch this…”?
We won’t get there in one giant step. We’ll get there the same way I’m driving around the globe:
one mile at a time, one city at a time, one donation at a time.
Why Your Donation Matters
When you say “cancer,” people reach for their wallets.
When you say “spinal cord injury,” people usually say, “I’m so sorry”… and then life just carries on.
But spinal cord injuries don’t “just carry on.” They:
-
Turn everyday tasks into full-scale missions
-
Rip away independence, jobs, hobbies, and plans
-
Affect families, friends, and entire support networks
And right now, spinal cord research is still massively underfunded compared to the scale of the problem.
That’s where you come in.
Even £5 / $5 / €5 Makes a Difference
You’ll see big charity campaigns talking about thousands and millions. That’s great.
But I want to be really clear:
Even £5, $5, €5 genuinely helps.
It might not sound like much, but:
-
It’s a brick in the wall of new research
-
It’s a step closer to better treatments
-
It’s a small, defiant “No” to the idea that “nothing can be done”
And let’s be honest: £5 / $5 / €5 is roughly:
-
One fancy coffee you’ll forget in the car
-
Half a takeaway you’ll regret anyway
-
Or that subscription you didn’t realise you still had
Turn that into hope, instead.
Where Your Money Goes
Once the charity is confirmed, this page will say:
“All donations are processed directly by Charity Name Goes Here via their secure donation system.”
That means:
-
I don’t touch your money
-
It doesn’t fund my van, trailer, kit, or travel
-
It goes straight into funding spinal cord research and related support
This donation page = research and support only.
If you want to help with the van, trailer, kit and running costs, that’s what the Sponsors and Equipment Lists are for.
Two paths. Very clear. No funny business.
How to Donate
Once everything is set up, you’ll be able to choose:
-
Donate in £ (GBP)
-
Donate in € (EUR)
-
Donate in $ (USD)
-
Donate in $ (CAD)
…and be taken directly to Charity Name Goes Here’s official donation page.
Until then, just know this:
I’m building the journey. The charity will handle the donations.
You’re the one who makes both parts matter.
Can’t Give a Lot? Give a Little.
Not everyone can throw big money at a cause. That’s fine. Truly.
If all you can spare is:
-
£5
-
$5
-
€5
then give that, and give it proudly.
You’re still part of the change. You’re still helping move the needle.
And if money’s tight right now, you can still:
-
Share the project on your socials
-
Tell a friend or colleague
-
Get your workplace or club to take a look
Awareness + action = progress.
What Does “Disabled Driving” Look Like?
It looks like:
-
A heavily adapted van
-
A dual-axle support trailer
-
One stubborn bloke with a spinal cord injury
-
A two-year journey around the globe starting in 2027
-
And a community of people, like you, who refuse to accept “nothing can be done”
I’m driving to prove that disability doesn’t mean the dream has to stop.
Your donation proves that the science and support don’t have to stop either.
Be Part of the Story
If you’ve ever thought:
“Someone should really do something about this…”
Well… this is that something.
-
I’ll do the driving.
-
Charity Name Goes Here will handle the research and support.
-
You, with whatever you can give — even just a fiver — become the reason any of this matters.
Thank you for helping turn a wild idea into real-world impact — and for helping push us towards that £10 million goal.
